CHARGERS STILL GET NO RESPECT

This is a rare topic on celebrityhaider.com, but hey my Chargers are in the playoffs and playing well.

The San Diego Chargers finally proved that they belong in the playoffs this past Sunday at home and yet NFL.com analyst Deon Sanders and SDSU Alumni Marshall Faulk give them no respect.

Next week the Chargers will have a tough road to travel in Indianapolis, facing the defending Super Bowl Champion Colts. Sanders and Faulk don't even utter a word about the Chargers chances against the Colts next week. Instead they spend 10 minutes talking about how great Manning is and how he makes everyone better and how Harrison might be back next week.

They don't talk about how the Chargers have beat them the last two meetings. And how the Colts are going to play LT; the best back in the league since Walter Payton (surprising since Faulk is a good friend of LT's).

This is the same kind of BS I've seen the Chargers faced with the last 5 seasons from these analysts. LT's done all these great things, broken records left and right, but has only gotten recognition last season when he broke the league's most rushing TD's in a single season record.

All these analyst love to do is kiss the asses of Peyton Manning's, Tony Romo, Brett Favre, or Tom Brady's. Especially Tom Brady's this season. They love him so much that they would drop to their knees in a second if Brady told them to drop and blow'em.

In fact the talks been about the Patriots how they been through so much and this and that. F*#k that. To tell you the truth their games with an exception of a couple (against Baltimore and the Giants) have been really boring games. Blowing out opponents week in and week out is a great sight, for a couple of games but for most of the season? Zzz. There's no excitement in watching their games. It gets so old so fast. And the whole "they've had to fight adversity". WHAT ADVERSITY? oh when they got caught for cheating? That's adversity? You got caught pay the fine and deal with it.

You want to talk about adversity? You talk about the Chargers. Who had to start the season with new coaches. The players and the fans had to learn that there going to be set backs with new coaches. But eventually they'll find a rhythm, which they have. Their season was unsure, but they managed to all get on the same page. With that here's why it's more exciting watching a Charger game than a Patriot game. Because with the Chargers it's either going to be a close game and a battle to the end or a come back from a 14 or 21 point deficit to win the game or a terrible performance. You never know, you're biting your nails the whole time. That's far more exciting than "oh, yea NE has the ball...let me guess the play, deep pass to Moss for TD." Predictable. Boring. The Colts last season were just as exciting as the Chargers are. You never new what you were going to get with the Colts, especially their defense. That's exciting football. In my opinion NE's season last season was more exciting than this season.

With that said you can't take away the fact that the Patriots are undefeated, but all that won't matter if they don't back it up with another ring. They have a tough week next week against a HOT Jacksonville Jaguars team that they haven't played during the regular season. And then if they get passed the Jags they have either the defending champs or the HOT relentless Chargers to deal with. Either way their road to the Superbowl won't be easy.

Let's just hope the AFC championship game will be a rematch with the Patriots vs the Chargers last season playoff upset. And this time the Chargers will be more ruthless in their path to the ultimate prize.

And I bet if the Chargers get passed the Colts and the Patriots the analysts will still be talking about the other team more. No respect for the league most talented roster/depth chart. But that's okay they'll let their game speak for itself. Hate them all you want, but they're destined for greatness and have dynasty potential. Just watch and see. I know, I've been a Chargers fan for over 17 years. I've stuck by my hometown team through really terrible and ugly times (the Ryan Leaf era, the Coach Riley era, and the Drew Brees's benching). This team assembled now, lead by a vocal QB (so much better than the quiet Drew Brees non leader) is by far the best assembled Chargers team I've ever seen. Five years ago you might have known one or two names of a Charger player. But this team, almost every position has one or two superstar potential names that people know. It's amazing.

And on a final note. Even though I've been on his case all season, that's cause I'm a big supporter of his and this year just wasn't his best. I'm talking about Philip Rivers of course and for all of you who keep asking for Bree's back, you are all band wagoners, because you really don't know the history of this team and it's QB's. Philip Rivers (even though his arm strength isn't the best) has by far been the best QB this franchise has ever seen. The way he commands and shows leadership in the huddle. The way he fights to the end because he never ever likes to lose. Shows that he's QB of this team for a very long time. No other QB in Charger history ever had a winning mentality that Rivers has, not even Fouts. Most of the QB's of the past once down by 10 and with nothing going their way would give up. He never does. As you saw in the Titan's game once he's given time in the pocket, he's as dangerous as a Peyton Manning or Tom Brady. Can't throw as deep but as efficient and accurate. His W/L ratio says it all, he's 26 and 7 as a starter in two seasons. He's the man for the job...trust me. Drew Brees wasn't and still isn't. Look at him now he's back to the old Brees, continuing to make the same mental mistakes every game. Granted he gets to throw more in New Orleans, but he doesn't have that winners mentality or the leadership qualities. To him second place would be an accomplishment. Not to a real winner; there's no other place but first.

So get off that patch face's jock and back your hometown's QB. Cause if you're from SD than you should back your hometown teams (Chargers, Padres, Gulls, etc), if not than YOU have no PRIDE or RESPECT for this city, so get the FUCK out of my beautiful city! Go live in New England and have some of their famous clam chowder or Dallas and go be a "Homo" with Tony Romo...I really don't have anything against gay people, I just like calling Tony Romo, Tony "Homo".

With that I'll end with this...San Diego Pride baby! Go Chargers!
