SAD SAD TIME IN CHARGER TOWN

A day after the Chargers make it to the next round of the playoffs I find the city, my city not reveling in the Chargers post season success. In fact going around town I found more people passing by commenting on how they still couldn't believe that the Chargers won a playoff game. Others make claims that the Chargers are not a good team. This is the city that the Chargers are fighting so hard to stay in?

I'm right out disgusted with people in this city. Seems like lots of people in this city have no pride in it's hometown team. Who knows maybe we can put the blame on the city attorney Mike Aguirre, who clearly HATES the Chargers and is putting up titanic efforts to smear the Chargers organization and force the team out of San Diego. He's trying to convince a lot of people (mostly the older conservative communities) that the city doesn't need (specifically) a professional football team; that it's not a profitable investment.

A majority of the people I've passed by just have no hopes for success for the Chargers. It's like they want them to fail. With that attitude and negative vibe no wonder San Diego sports teams see disappointment time and time again. There's no belief or support, especially for the Chargers. Before last season, every home game would be filled with the opposing teams fans. It was like the Chargers were playing away when in fact they were playing at home. It's sad.

And people are still saying that the Chargers aren't any good. One person said to me that the Chargers aren't a good team. That our QB isn't good at all, that our running game sucks, our receivers aren't good enough, our secondary still sucks, our defense overall isn't good. I was so taken off guard by his comments that I just didn't bother responding at that moment. Because someone like that has his mind set already and nothing you say can change it, it would have been futile to respond.

But it's like first off our team is in the AFC, the best conference in the NFL period and were in the playoffs. And for a fact the Chargers are no doubt a top 10 team. I'd personally put them at the NO.5 or 6 team in the NFL right now. So how does that make us a sucky team? Our defense has the most turnovers this season I believe. We have the league high ball hawk DB in Antonio Cromartie. The two best pass rusher duos in the league in Shawne Merriman and Shaun Phlips. The leagues rushing title winner and record breaker LaDanian Tomlinson. Our QB is 26 and 7 as a full time starter in two seasons. And has lead the team in more comebacks (4 or 5 I believe) in his first two seasons as a starter than any previous Chargers QB. The addition of Chris Chambers has elevated the play of Vincent Jackson and rookie Buster Davis. And has taken a lot pressure off of Chargers receiving leader Antonio Gates to make all the big receiving plays all the time. So tell me why the Chargers suck? When for a fact they are better than most of the other 32 teams in the league?

People love to hate on the Chargers and wish them failure. The sad thing is that most is from their own home town. I think we need to flush out all the Charger haters that live in San Diego. Because you know if we don't and get to the Superbowl and win, they'll all be jumping on that Chargers band wagon. True fans get upset when our team isn't playing well because we know they're capable of playing better, but we never right them off. These haters are on their side the team wins a big game and then quickly turn their backs when they see that they're going up against the defending champions next week. You know who you are...look at me hating on haters. That's what haters do I guess.

If you're a fellow San Dieagan and don't support the Chargers, than you are a terrorist!

  1. Honestly the majority of these so called san diegans are not from around here or are programmed to think in a certain way.

we'll see who gets the last laugh when these posers start to join the bandwagon, by then itll be too late.
